Planning your therapy sessions

Research supports explicit teaching of each linguistic structure and systematic practice of that structure  in each domain of language (from speech to connected text)....every day!

Attached is a planning form for face-to-face therapy sessions. I call this form a "practice prescription" to reinforce that one purpose of face-to-face sessions is to set up a routine for individualized, daily, home practice.

Use your face-to-face sessions for explicit teaching of the linguistic target(s) on the Lexercise scope & sequence.  Define & describe each linguistic structure at your current Lexercise level. (See the TIPS Tab of the Lexercise Scope & Sequence.)

Do some supported, active and multisensory practice and then instruct the client and parent how to do daily home practice, which can include online Lexercise games as well as some brief, face-to-face procedures like White Board Spelling.
